Reflections and Writings
Editors Notes
Why did I start this project?
Reflections and Writings (R&W) is a collaborative project dedicated to highlighting the African and Caribbean experience at Oxford. I envisioned it as an archive of our thoughts, interests, and a celebration of our respective heritages. Acts of reflection keep us in constant reminder of our ambitions and goals but invite us to see a new and undiscovered perspective on our past experiences.
The theme for Edition 2 is: ‘Our Reflections on Blackness.’ Between each of the wonderfully crafted written pieces, there will be some artwork by Abigail Edu, each one depicting Blackness through multiple lenses. R&W hopes to give longevity to the ACS experience, documenting and acknowledging them for future generations of African and Caribbean students. I hope you all enjoy these pieces written by Daniella, Beau and Charlee.
For now, stay tuned for more R&W…
Jamelia.
